Leadership Connections™, an annual national conference for early childhood administrators, has its inaugural year. More than 5,000 early childhood leaders from across the country have attended this extraordinary professional development event since.
With an organizational development grant from the McCormick Tribune Foundation, the Early Childhood Professional Development Project becomes the Center for Early Childhood Leadership—with an expanded vision that includes policy and public awareness activities.
The Taking Charge of Change™ leadership training program is launched. More than 500 Illinois directors have participated in this year-long innovative professional development experience.
The Early Childhood Professional Development Project is launched with a $600 Membership Action Grant from NAEYC. The first organizational climate assessment specific to early childhood work settings is published. More than 2,500 programs across the country have since received profiles after completing The Early Childhood Work Environment Survey (ECWES).
