Training/Event Description:

Links in a Chain: Quality Improvement Strategies for Infant and Toddler Classrooms offers guidance for Illinois program administrators and lead teachers on linking research-based assessment with teaching strategies. The focus will be on promoting high quality language and interactions in infant and toddler classrooms; Two of the key essentials to meeting the instructional quality standard in ExceleRate™ Illinois.

In this interactive day long training, Barbara Volpe, from the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership, will assist participants in making the link between ITERS-R quality indicators and the SET-Social Emotional Tools for Life in their work with infants and toddlers. Quality Specialists and Infant Toddler Quality Specialists will be on hand to facilitate small group discussions. Each participant will have the opportunity to contribute to their program’s continuous quality improvement plan in preparation for ExceleRate™ Illinois.



An additional training opportunity is being made available to all ITERS-R Training attendees.  To receive credit towards an Infant/Toddler Credential, participants may elect to register for a 2-hour follow-up webinar regarding ITERS-R.  Completion of both training components are required for credential credit.  More information and sign up will be available on the online registration form.  The webinar date is to be determined.
