Program Administration Scale & Business Administration Scale | Maryland EXCELS
Maryland EXCELS is a voluntary tiered quality rating and improvement system that recognizes the accomplishments of early childhood and school-age only programs and providers through a set of standards with five levels that offer a pathway to high-quality. Maryland EXCELS also recognizes child care and public prekindergarten programs that provide services over and above those outlined in the standards. Programs that select and complete additional recognitions are acknowledged on the Maryland EXCELS website for parents. One of the areas of recognition is completion of the Program Administration Scale (PAS) training for center-based programs or the Business Administration Scale (BAS) training for family providers. For further information contact:
The Maryland PAS Continuous Quality Improvement Project is a voluntary program for centers accredited or seeking accreditation and centers that have 60% or more lead staff participating in the MSDE Credentialing Program. This voluntary initiative, focused on program administration, is a key component in Maryland’s efforts to create high-quality early learning environments for young children. The project links continuous quality improvement with the credentialing and accreditation programs.
