This is session six of the BAS Transformative TA Institute.
This virtual, six-session institute is specifically designed for those in technical assistance (TA) roles, including coaches, mentors, and consultants, who support family child care providers in improving their business and professional practices. The Transformative TA Institute is focused on how to use the Business Administration Scale for Family Child Care (BAS) as a tool for providing technical assistance.
Session 6 | Making Dollars and Sense, Part 2
Building on the previous session, Part 2 of Making Dollars and Sense involves a deep dive into the connection between recordkeeping and tax benefits of family child care. Participants will explore the rationale and methods for tracking finances, food, and hours. Further, participants will learn about the components of, calculation, and application of Time-Space Percentage for tax deductions—arguably one of the most important numbers for a family child care program.
