Who Me? Director? Strategies to Survive Your Early Leadership Years

Note: This is a promotion for a related event that features one of our specialists speaking at the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s annual conference. This is not a McCormick Center sponsored event.

Leadership positions are unique and most directors will agree that your first couple of years as an early childhood administrator is the most difficult. Whether you grew up within the ranks of the program or are an outsider coming in, many are not typically equipped to handle the role of director. For those who earned college degrees, as a student they learned a firm foundation in theory and practice but very little typically in the areas of human resources, marketing, and financial management. Come learn more about practical strategies to assist with the enormous list of responsibilities, share a few laughs, and learn some of the secrets from well-seasoned directors!
