Strategies and Tools for Supporting Program Leaders, Part 2: Knowing where to begin and what steps to follow when helping administrators improve their leadership and management practices can be challenging. This session will provide an introduction to technical assistance roles, explain the importance of focusing TA on the administrator, provide an overview of the whole leadership framework, identify the components of transformational TA, and explore the six steps in the coaching process. In addition, participants will learn about the developmental stages of administrators and specific strategies and tools that will help them in their work.

Key Concepts for Coaching with the PAS: Understanding how to conduct a formal PAS assessment and knowing how to use the PAS for technical assistance require different skill sets. This session will provide a brief overview of the PAS and will focus on key concepts for those in technical assistance roles. Strategies for addressing administrator concerns, explaining indicators of quality and research design aspects, and supporting administrators in decision making will be highlighted. This session will set the tone for providing a deep dive into the following PAS topic areas: building partnerships and engaging families, conflict resolution, and creating a shared vision.
